On the evening of November 14, 2025, authorities in Orlando, Florida, responded to a distress call at the Beverly and Lakeside Apartments located on Redmond Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered 22-year-old male Vincent Sinclair III suffering from a gunshot wound in the complex's courtyard. He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The initial investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a confrontation regarding a burglary.
Sinclair and his roommate had returned to their residence to find the door lock dismantled and the interior ransacked, with various items missing or in disarray.
The situation escalated when Sinclair and his roommate approached two neighbors in the courtyard to inquire about the break-in. The encounter quickly turned violent, involving a pair of identical twin brothers identified by investigators as Maurice Stubs and Maris Stubs. During the altercation, Maurice Stubs allegedly produced a firearm and shot Sinclair. Simultaneously, Maris Stubs was accused of attacking Sinclair’s roommate, striking him in the face with a gun with enough force to dislodge dental jewelry. In mid-December 2025, authorities apprehended both suspects. Maurice Stubs was charged with second-degree murder for the death of Sinclair, while his brother Maris Stubs faced charges of aggravated battery for the assault on the roommate. Reports indicated that despite their identical appearance, the brothers were distinguishable by a specific facial tattoo on Maris.
