Oronde Clyde Jenkins, a 47-year-old male resident of Pendleton, South Carolina, was fatally injured during a violent incident that occurred in mid-December 2025. While initial reports indicated the violence took place on the night of December 14, Mr. Jenkins survived in critical condition for several days following the event. He was treated at Greenville Prisma General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:07 a.m.
on December 17, 2025, just days before his forty-eighth birthday.
The series of events that led to his death began late on a Sunday evening at a residence located on Bickford Circle, near Pendleton High School. Anderson County deputies responded to a 911 call placed shortly after 11:00 p.m. regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, investigators determined that an altercation had occurred between Mr. Jenkins and another individual, which escalated when firearms were introduced. Mr. Jenkins sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the confrontation and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, but medical efforts to save his life were ultimately unsuccessful. The coroner subsequently ruled the manner of death as a homicide.
Law enforcement officers investigating the case identified a suspect, 23-year-old Quali Williams Senior. Authorities allege that Williams was the individual involved in the fight with Jenkins that turned deadly. Williams was initially arrested and charged with attempted murder while Jenkins was fighting for his life in the hospital. Following the victim's passing, the charges against Williams were upgraded to murder. He was detained at the Anderson County Detention Center to await legal proceedings.
Following his passing, arrangements were handled by The Unity Mortuary of Anderson. An obituary noted that Mr. Jenkins was born on December 21, 1977, and described him as a beloved family member whose loss was deeply felt by his relatives and the community.
