In the early morning hours of December 18, 2025, the life of 26-year-old Cole Anargyros Mantas was tragically cut short in downtown Athens, Georgia. Police responded to a "person down" call near the intersection of West Broad Street and Pulaski Street at approximately 2:23 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Mantas in the roadway with critical gunshot wounds.
