On the evening of December 19, 2025, a violent incident unfolded at the Star Beltway 8 Apartments situated at 10606 Brooklet Drive in Houston, Texas. Around 8:00 p.m., patrol officers with the Houston Police Department were dispatched to the complex following reports of a shooting. Upon searching the premises, authorities discovered a 20-year-old male, John Pascuasa-Menendez, lying in an alleyway and suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department quickly transported him to an area hospital, but he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez of the HPD Homicide Division led the subsequent investigation into the fatal encounter. Through their inquiries, law enforcement officials were able to identify a suspect linked to the shooting. Police arrested 17-year-old LeBron Augustus, taking him into custody without further reported incident.
Following the arrest, prosecutors filed formal charges against Augustus. He stands charged with murder in the 230th Criminal District Court for his alleged role in the death of Pascuasa-Menendez. As the legal process commences, the teenager remains held as the primary suspect in this homicide case.
