Kenneth Flemings, a 59-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on May 29, 2015, in Houston, Texas. Kenneth and his wife were closing their convenience store for the night when an unknown black male suspect armed with a gun confronted and shot Kenneth. The gunman and two other unknown black male suspects fled the scene. Kenneth was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

and arrest of three suspects. Jalen Coby, a 19-year-old black male, was charged with capital murder in the 228th State District Court. Two additional male suspects, both juveniles aged 16 and 15, were referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on charges of capital murder. The arrests were made without incident on June 23, 2015, following a collaborative effort between the Houston Police Department and the Houston Independent School District Police Department.
