In the early morning hours of Sunday, December 21, 2025, a violent disturbance erupted at the End Zone Sports Lounge located on Concord Road in Beaumont, Texas. Officers from the Beaumont Police Department were dispatched to the scene just before 2:00 a.m. following reports of gunfire at the establishment. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, authorities discovered that a shooting had occurred, resulting in injuries to two individuals who were transported to a nearby hospital for
emergency medical treatment.
The incident claimed the life of 31-year-old Shane Thibodeaux Jr., a male resident of Beaumont, who succumbed to his injuries after arriving at the medical facility. The second victim, whose identity was not immediately released, sustained a gunshot wound but survived and remained hospitalized for treatment. As the homicide investigation commenced, detectives began piecing together the events of that night to identify those responsible for the fatal altercation.
By the following Monday, law enforcement announced a significant development in the case, securing a murder warrant for 19-year-old Dakota Chatmon. Investigators identified Chatmon as the primary suspect in the shooting death of Thibodeaux and the injury of the second victim. Despite the issuance of the warrant, Chatmon was not immediately taken into custody, and police launched a search to locate him, urging the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts.
During the course of the investigation, police also identified a person of interest named Jordan Baldwin. The 25-year-old was apprehended and booked into jail, but authorities clarified that his arrest was in connection with an unrelated misdemeanor charge of mail theft. Baldwin was subsequently released on bond, while the search for the murder suspect continued.
