Keshawn Ramseur, 31, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of November 21, 2025, in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side. Around 3:44 a.m., he and two other people were standing outside in the 4500 block of West Fifth Avenue when gunfire erupted, striking all three. Ramseur was hit in the chest and, along with the others, made his own way to Rush University Medical Center rather than waiting for an ambulance.
Despite emergency treatment, he was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.
The two other victims, a 26-year-old woman and another 31-year-old adult, were each shot in the leg and also arrived at Rush for treatment. Their wounds were reported as non-life-threatening, and they were listed in stable condition.
