On the morning of September 16, 2017, Maurice King, a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot in Chicago's Gage Park neighborhood. At approximately 10:11 a.m., as he walked to his vehicle in the 2500 block of West 58th Street, an unidentified male approached and opened fire. King sustained two gunshot wounds to each shoulder and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He resided in the same neighborhood where the incident occurred.
