In the early evening of March 12, 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Buffalo, New York street, tragically ending the life of 15-year-old Shaunice Gamblin. The young female was the victim of a drive-by shooting that occurred at approximately 8 p.m. in the 600 block of LaSalle Avenue. At the time of the incident, Gamblin was in the company of a 16-year-old male, who also sustained injuries in the attack but was later treated at Erie County Medical Center and released.
Shaunice Gamblin, a student at Burgard High School, was rushed to the same hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Buffalo Police detectives began an investigation into the targeted shooting, exploring potential links to another shooting that wounded two other people later that same night on Glendale Place. Despite appeals to the public for information and the ongoing investigation, there have been no publicly announced arrests or identification of any suspects in connection with the murder of Shaunice Gamblin. The case has since gone cold, leaving her family and community without answers or justice for her untimely death.
