In the early morning hours of November 15, 2025, the life of 36-year-old Deevon Cornea Brown was tragically cut short in Pontiac, Michigan. Gunshots echoed through a neighborhood on the 200 block of Osmun Street just after 6 a.m., prompting multiple calls to 911. One resident on the nearby 80 block of Wall Street discovered a bullet hole that had pierced the front door of their home. When Oakland County Sheriff's deputies arrived on Osmun Street, they found Brown wounded.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting death of the male victim began immediately. As officers processed the scene, they made a grim discovery; Brown's body was located under the deck of a house in the area. Investigators utilized modern technology in their search for the person responsible, reviewing video footage from the vicinity and employing Flock license plate reader data to track vehicular movement. This crucial evidence led them to identify a suspect in the fatal shooting.
Later that same day, the diligent work of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Team led to the swift arrest of Anthony Louis Ward, a 41-year-old resident of Waterford Township. Ward was taken into custody in Farmington Hills. A few days later, he was formally charged with Second Degree Murder, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and two counts of felony firearm. During his arraignment, a judge ordered that Ward be held without bond in the Oakland County Jail as he awaits further legal proceedings for his alleged role in the death of Deevon Cornea Brown.
