In the early morning hours of November 1, 2025, the life of 21-year-old Eric Torres of Pueblo, Colorado, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded around 2:49 a.m. in a residential area on W. 13th Street, where police were alerted to 27 rounds being fired by a ShotSpotter notification. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds.
Both victims were immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
While one victim was listed in stable condition, Eric Torres succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:20 a.m. the same day. The Pueblo County Coroner's Office later confirmed his identity. This event marked the city's 12th homicide of the year.
As of now, the Pueblo Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives have indicated that they believe the shooting was a targeted incident and that there is no ongoing danger to the general public. However, no suspects have been identified in connection with the death of Eric Torres, and no arrests have been made.
