In the early morning hours of November 10, 2025, a gathering at a South Dallas home took a tragic turn, ending the life of 19-year-old Brandon Fuller. Dallas police responded to a call around 7 a.m. in the 2400 block of Harding Street, where they discovered Fuller unresponsive in the roadway. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced him deceased.
The investigation into the young man's death quickly pointed to a shooting.
According to witness accounts detailed in an arrest-warrant affidavit, the events unfolded inside a nearby house where Fuller was present with four other individuals. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Deyonte Rice, had reportedly been summoned to the residence via an Uber. A witness told police they were awakened at approximately 5:30 a.m. by the sound of Rice pistol-whipping Fuller. The altercation escalated dramatically when Rice allegedly stood over Fuller and pointed a gun at him. In response, Fuller reportedly fired a gun from under his jacket, striking Rice in the leg. Rice is then alleged to have returned fire, shooting Fuller in the head.
Following the shooting, a witness observed Fuller slumped over on a couch. Another individual at the scene was then instructed to remove Fuller from the house, which resulted in him being left in the roadway where he was later found by authorities. Rice, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, reportedly asked a woman at the home for a ride to the hospital but was taken to a different location instead.
Dallas police later arrested Deyonte Rice in connection with the shooting. He was subsequently booked into the Dallas County Jail and is facing a charge of capital murder. The investigation into the death of Brandon Fuller remains ongoing, and authorities have encouraged anyone with additional information to come forward. The motive behind the deadly confrontation has not been made clear.
