In the quiet city of Meridian, Mississippi, a family tragedy unfolded, leaving a community in mourning. Sandra Goodwin, a 76-year-old Black woman, was shot in her home on Manning Street on the evening of October 24, 2025. Emergency services were dispatched to the residence, where they found Goodwin critically injured. She was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
