Jesus Escobedo, a 26-year-old male from Granite City, was fatally shot in the early hours of October 25, 2025, after an altercation outside a neighborhood bar. Authorities said officers were called to the scene just before 2 a.m., where a disturbance escalated and a gun was fired, striking Escobedo. He was rushed to Gateway Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m., according to the Madison County Coroner.
