Noel Denzel Miller, a 35-year-old Black man, was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, inside a home in Converse, a northeast Bexar County community outside San Antonio. Deputies were called after gunfire erupted as Miller and a woman returned to her house and began preparing to shower; moments later, she heard shots and found Miller gravely wounded upstairs. Responding deputies found multiple spent shell casings and bullet damage throughout the home.
Miller was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the suspected gunman, 23-year-old Shiateek De-Shean Wilson, had entered the home earlier, hidden in a closet with flowers, and waited for his ex-girlfriend to return. According to an affidavit described by local reporters, Wilson briefly seized the woman’s phone as she attempted to call 911 before fleeing the scene. He was arrested without incident later that morning and allegedly admitted to hiding in the closet and discarding items while leaving.
Wilson told authorities he fired in self-defense, claiming Miller pointed a gun at him, but detectives charged him with murder after the investigation at the scene and interviews with witnesses. He was booked into the Bexar County jail, where records and news reports indicate he was being held on a $300,000 bond while the case proceeds. As of the days immediately following the shooting, no additional suspects had been named.
Friends, family, and the broader community publicly identified Miller and mourned his death, with memorial listings and gun-violence trackers noting the date and location of the killing. Authorities have not announced further arrests in connection with the case.
