On the morning of March 18, 2025, 40-year-old Paul Jonte Bussell, an African American man, was fatally shot in a residential neighborhood in northeast Bexar County, Texas. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of multiple gunshots at the intersection of Chipping Drive and Oldham Drive around 8:15 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Mr. Bussell seated in a silver 2014 Nissan van that had crashed into a wooden fence near a drainage ditch.
