A workplace shooting on October 27, 2025, in Cleveland, Tennessee, resulted in the death of Tobias Gleinig, a White male German national. The tragedy unfolded at Barku Plastics, a subsidiary of a German plastics company, shortly after 10 a.m. when a coworker initiated gunfire inside the facility on Corporate Drive SW. Officers responding to the scene discovered Gleinig and a colleague, Ivan Aldergot, both deceased from gunshot wounds. Gleinig was described as a supervisor and production manager at the plant.
The investigation quickly identified a fellow employee, 38-year-old Kyle Steven Crandell, as the suspected gunman. It was reported that Crandell was in the process of being terminated from his position at the company. After the shooting, Crandell fled the scene in a vehicle, which authorities later tracked to a residence on Westview Lane in Bradley County. A coordinated tactical operation involving the Cleveland Police Department and the Bradley County Sheriff's Office SWAT team ensued, leading to a standoff that lasted for approximately six hours.
