On the evening of April 8, 2020, a domestic dispute in Cleveland, Tennessee, escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 38-year-old Chris Wingard. A heated argument with another man, Matthew David Thomas, who was 29 at the time, turned violent. The altercation resulted in Wingard being shot multiple times in the chest on Clemmer Street NE. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Wingard succumbed to his injuries.
