Patrique Allen, 31, a Black male, was killed in a burst of gunfire inside the Social LIV nightclub in Fort Worth's West 7th entertainment district shortly after 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Officers responding to the 3000 block of Bledsoe Street found him inside the club with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Five additional patrons were struck by gunfire amid the chaos and either self-transported or were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals, where police said they were in stable condition. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner later listed the cause of death as gunshot wounds and the manner of death as homicide.
Detectives said multiple shooters opened fire with handguns and fled on foot before officers arrived. Early statements from Fort Worth police indicated the attack may have been gang-related, an angle investigators continued to examine while processing the sprawling scene and reviewing surveillance from the nightclub and surrounding businesses. Community leaders decried the violence as a setback for safety efforts in the popular nightlife corridor, even as officials noted that overall crime in the district had been trending down.
Four days after the killing, Police Chief Eddie Garcia announced the arrest of a 20-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting. Officers located Arkell Ross at a residence near the 5400 block of Huffines Boulevard; after a barricade situation with SWAT and negotiators, he surrendered and was taken into custody and booked into the Tarrant County Jail. Court records cited by local media show he was charged in the case as detectives continued to pursue other individuals believed to have fired weapons during the incident. Police emphasized that the investigation remained active, with additional suspects possible.
Public records and prior court filings reviewed by local outlets also documented Allen's earlier encounters with the justice system, including a 2019 capital murder indictment that resulted in a 2023 conviction and a five-year prison sentence, which his attorney characterized in filings as stemming from an accomplice role. Regardless of that history, the morning at Social LIV ended with a single fatality—Allen—and five wounded survivors, a grim ledger that left families and the city confronting the reality of a nightclub shooting that investigators say involved more than one gunman and remains under scrutiny.
