Jesse Edward Murueta Cervantes, 35, a male of Hispanic/Latino ethnicity, was shot late on the night of October 11, 2025, at a residence along the 28300 block of Old Highway 58 near Barstow. Deputies arrived around 11:55 p.m. after reports of gunfire and found him in the backyard with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
