In the early morning hours of October 11, 2025, a violent encounter in downtown Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, ended the life of 32-year-old Edward Jackson of Delaware. The male victim was found deceased at the scene located at 120 South Main Street after police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 12:14 a.m. An investigation was immediately launched into the fatal shooting.
Authorities swiftly identified a suspect, Aaron Nasir Pigford, a 25-year-old man from nearby Waynesboro.
In a surprising turn of events, Pigford was one of the individuals who contacted 911 in the aftermath of the shooting. He reportedly admitted to the dispatcher that he had fired two shots at someone.
Following his arrest, Pigford was charged with criminal homicide in connection with Jackson's death. During an interview with investigators, Pigford allegedly confessed to shooting Jackson, stating that he felt threatened when Jackson 'ran at him.' The incident occurred outside of a local establishment, Webb's Sports Bar.
Aaron Pigford was arraigned and subsequently denied bail. He is currently incarcerated at the Franklin County Prison awaiting further legal proceedings. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have asked anyone with additional information to come forward.
