On the afternoon of October 19, 2025, the life of 32-year-old Eric Gutierrez was tragically cut short in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix police responded to reports of gunfire near 23rd Avenue and Buckeye Road, just west of Interstate 17, shortly after 3:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Gutierrez with a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial reports indicated that the assailant or assailants had fled the area before law enforcement arrived.
In the days that followed the shooting, the Phoenix Police Department announced the arrests of three men in connection with the homicide. The suspects were identified as 29-year-old Carlos Perez-Rodas, 33-year-old Nelvin Romero-Alonzo, and 20-year-old Kevin Juarez-Rivas.
While the arrests marked a significant development in the case, authorities did not immediately release a suspected motive for the killing. The investigation remains active as officials continue to piece together the circumstances that led to Gutierrez's untimely death. The three suspects were booked into jail, facing charges related to the deadly shooting.
