Who Killed Andrae J. Davis?
Andrae J. Davis, a 31-year-old father of three, was tragically killed on August 17, 2011, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. On the evening of his death, Andrae had returned home with his fiancé and children after spending time at a local park. They lived at the Eagle Nest Condominiums, where an argument broke out among a group of men outside their residence. Andrae, who had no involvement in the altercation, watched through the peephole of his front door. During the commotion, one of the men drew a gun and fired. The bullet, intended for someone else, went through the door and struck Andrae, fatally hitting him in the heart.
In the aftermath, police speculated that some individuals involved in the fight fled to Mexico, but no arrests were ever made. Despite ongoing investigations, Andrae's murder remains unsolved, and his family continues to seek justice for his untimely death. In 2015, his family won a $12 million lawsuit against the apartment complex, citing their failure to properly screen tenants, which they believed led to the presence of a known drug dealer involved in the shooting. However, even with this legal victory, those responsible for Andrae's death remain at large, leaving his case as one of Albuquerque's many unsolved murders.
