Deputy Sheriff James Francis McGrane, Jr., a 38-year-old law enforcement officer, was tragically killed in the line of duty on March 22, 2006, while conducting a routine traffic stop in Tijeras, New Mexico. The incident occurred at 12:46 AM on Highway 337, a location that would later become a site of memorial and remembrance for the fallen deputy.
