On January 3, 2017, 61-year-old Charles Ray Ulery, known as Chuck, was fatally shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Cynthia Loop NW, where Ulery was assisting his friend, John Bennett, with moving belongings. As they were preparing to leave in a truck, Bennett, who had a firearm tucked under his arm, accidentally discharged the weapon. The bullet struck Ulery in the head, leading to his immediate death.
