Victoria Ann Chavez, a 26-year-old Hispanic female from Albuquerque, vanished from the city's streets and was killed in 2005; years later her remains were found on the city's West Mesa, where they had been buried in the sand and scrub near 118th Street SW. Investigators ultimately identified her as one of the victims in the cluster of murders attributed to an unknown offender later dubbed the “West Mesa Bone Collector,” a case that drew a large reward and a long-running appeal for tips but n ...
