In the quiet community of Saltville, Virginia, a violent encounter led to the death of Michael Stonewall Blevins. On a Thursday, deputies from the Smyth County Sheriff's Office were called to a residence located in the 400 block of Dry Cove Lane. Upon their arrival, they, along with officers from the Saltville and Chilhowie police departments, discovered the body of Blevins. The 28-year-old man had been fatally shot.
