In the early morning hours of May 17, 2025, the vibrant life of 19-year-old Keilani Renae Harris, a Black/African American female, was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square neighborhood. Just after 1 a.m., as Keilani was walking outside the Omh nightclub, a shooting erupted that would ultimately claim three lives and leave another person critically injured.
The King County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that Keilani, along with Briaun Keith Dinish-Lomelli, 27, and August Alfred Lastrappe, 24, died from multiple gunshot wounds in what was ruled a homicide. Her mother, Christina Rivas, remembered her daughter as a family-oriented ray of sunshine with an infectious laugh that could be heard from a mile away.
The immediate aftermath of the shooting left a community in shock and a family devastated. Keilani's loved ones described her as full of joy, energy, and compassion, a devoted big sister whose greatest love was for her siblings. In the days following the tragedy, her family pleaded with the public for any information that could lead to an arrest, expressing their profound grief and the unbearable pain of their loss. Seattle Police launched an intensive investigation, initially seeking the driver of a black Tesla that may have recorded video evidence of the incident.
The investigation led Seattle Police Department detectives and a SWAT unit to an apartment building in south Seattle, where they arrested three men in connection with the triple homicide.
