Nicholas Hood, 23, a Black/African American male from Houston, was winding down a Saturday night near the METRO bus stop in the 7400 block of North Main Street in Independence Heights when an unknown man approached him as he sat on FaceTime with his girlfriend. The exchange seemed casual until Nicholas suddenly ran; the call went silent. Using his phone’s location, his girlfriend traced him to a grassy area by the stop, where first responders pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after 9 p. ...
