Gerald Peavy, a 48-year-old man from Houston, Texas, tragically died on January 26, 2021, due to an accidental shooting at his home in northwest Harris County. The incident occurred when a house guest, Norez Hargrove, was handling a firearm in the living room. Hargrove, who was 50 years old, assumed the gun was not loaded and pulled the trigger, causing the firearm to discharge. The bullet traveled through the wall, through a television, and struck Peavy while he was lying in bed with his wife.
