Just after 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, Justin Garland, 35, was shot during a dispute on High Street in Newcastle, Texas. First responders attempted to transport Justin Garland, 35, to the hospital, but he died of his injuries before arrival. The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Texas Rangers joined Young County authorities at the scene, where investigators said two men who lived at the same address, but in separate residences on the property, had argued before one of them opened fire
