Luis Martinez, a 62-year-old man from Tyler, Texas, was tragically murdered on September 15, 2016. His burned body was discovered near the Antioch Cemetery in Smith County, Texas. The investigation revealed that Martinez was shot multiple times with a .22 caliber rifle by Rebecca Bond, 37, in the backyard of a residence on Littlefield Drive.
Following the murder, Bond, along with Stanton Pearce, 54, and Laurie Stone Perry, 56, moved Martinez's body to an unknown location.
Pearce and Perry were involved in tampering with the evidence, attempting to cover up the crime by cleaning up blood and collecting shell casings. Pearce later admitted to his part in the murder cover-up and was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Bond and Perry also faced charges and were sentenced to 50 years and 15 years in prison, respectively.
