On May 18, 2025, 17-year-old male Andrey Gadson Jr, a Black/African American student from Allendale, South Carolina, was found shot on Butler Street in the Kennedy Park area around 1 a.m. He later died from his injuries. The Allendale Police Department requested assistance from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, which opened the investigation into the killing.
