In the early minutes of September 14, 2025, Joe Martinez, 19, a male, stood with friends on the top level of the Rivercenter Parking Garage in downtown San Antonio when the night tipped from noisy to lethal. Police were called just before 1:30 a.m. Officers climbed to the rooftop and found Joe Martinez, 19, fatally wounded; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner later identified him and ruled his death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
