Felix Caxaj, 25, male, Hispanic/Latino, was shot to death late on Sunday, September 21, 2025, near the 3400 block of Unity Drive in west Houston. Officers were already canvassing the area after a reported carjacking on Skyline Drive when a passerby flagged them down about a body lying near Richmond Avenue. They found Caxaj on the street with multiple gunshot wounds; he died at the scene. Reports identified him as a young worker who had recently finished a late shift and was returning home when the violence unfolded.

Investigators quickly linked the shooting to a sequence of crimes that began with the carjacking. Within days, police arrested 18-year-old Henry Steven Aguilar and charged him with capital murder and evading arrest in connection with Caxaj’s killing. According to authorities, Aguilar fled from officers before being taken into custody. Two additional suspects—18-year-old Jhalmar Ariel Aguilar-Soriano and a 16-year-old male—were arrested and referred on charges related to the preceding robbery and theft, but not for the homicide itself.

Police accounts describe three suspects involved in the initial robbery: one carried a rifle while others took the victim’s vehicle by force on Skyline Drive. As officers investigated that crime, they were directed to the nearby scene where Caxaj had been shot. The Houston Police Department stated the fatal shooting occurred around 11:05 p.m., and they appealed for additional tips as the case proceeded.
