Colby Cash Smith, an 18-year-old White male, was shot during a triple shooting in uptown Charlotte just after 1:30 a.m. on July 5, 2025, in the 200 block of North Caldwell Street near the Spectrum Center. When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds; 27-year-old Gabriel Jacob Lee was pronounced dead at the scene, while Smith was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and a third victim later self-transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
