On September 13, 2025, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Vanessa Bigg-Carr, 34, a white female, was found dead after gunfire erupted at the Hilltop Apartments on Broad Street shortly after 5 p.m. Responding officers arrived around 5:17 p.m. and discovered Bigg-Carr deceased at the scene, while another victim, Patrick Hearst, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities later said the violence was confined to the apartment complex and posed no ongoing threat to the public.
