Gary Franke, 81, a White male from Lancaster, Ohio, was found dead on August 9, 2025, after police conducted a welfare check at his South Maple Street property. Officers were dispatched around 1:03 p.m. and later discovered his body in a shallow grave in a wooded area near the home. The Fairfield County Coroner ruled the death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.
