On January 17, 2025, authorities in Lancaster, Ohio, responded to a fatal shooting at a residence located in the 3000 block of Schopp Road. Upon arrival, Fairfield County Sheriff's deputies discovered the body of Darby Russell, a 51-year-old individual from Lancaster, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The incident immediately prompted an investigation by the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau.
