William T. Osborne, a 51-year-old male police officer with the Lancaster Division of Police in Ohio, tragically died on December 23, 1909. Officer Osborne was shot and killed while conducting a burglary surveillance at the Fairfield County Courthouse around 1:00 am. He was struck in the leg by a shotgun blast during the incident. Officer Osborne had served with the Lancaster Police Department for six years.
