On August 31, 2025, in Cleveland's Mount Pleasant neighborhood, 39-year-old male Mujahid Abdur-Rahman was working on a vehicle on the 3300 block of East 142nd Street when two men approached him and gunfire erupted. Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert around 2:45 p.m. found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
