Arthur Davis III, a 22-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on June 20, 2015, in Cleveland, OH. His death was the result of a violent altercation involving members of rival sects within the Heartless Felons gang. Davis was a member of the Fleet sect, while his assailant, Antowine Palmer, belonged to the Broadway sect.
On the day of the incident, Davis drove into Palmer's territory, which led to Palmer and an unknown male opening fire on Davis' vehicle.
The gunfire resulted in Davis' death. Palmer was later arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and discharging a firearm into a habitation. In August 2017, Palmer pleaded guilty to these charges and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of Davis. Additionally, Palmer received a 14.5-year sentence for his involvement in a series of carjackings in the Tremont area, which were to be served consecutively, totaling 29.5 years in prison.
The case highlighted the intense and violent feuds between different sects within the Heartless Felons gang, which had been ongoing throughout the summer of 2015. The legal proceedings and Palmer's eventual conviction brought some measure of justice for Davis' family and friends, although the loss of such a young life remains a tragic and painful memory for the community.
