In the predawn hours of September 4, 2025, Ronell Marte, 26, male, was found shot in the chest inside Starlight Park in the Bronx, near East 174th Street. Officers and medics responded just before 3 a.m.—around 2:50 a.m. by police accounts—and rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified by authorities at the scene and in subsequent reports that morning.
