Marquez Green, 27, a man from Meridian, was shot during an exchange of gunfire at the Frank Berry Courts housing complex on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, around 6 p.m. Responding officers found him critically injured with gunshot wounds to the abdomen; he was taken to a local hospital, where he died two days later on Thursday, May 22, according to the county coroner.
