In the late hours of August 6, 2025, a life was tragically cut short on a Las Vegas street. Andre Matthews, a 43-year-old Black / African American man, was found lying in the roadway on Sahara Avenue near Interstate 15 with a fatal gunshot wound to his neck. The events that led to this violent end began with a seemingly innocuous encounter. Matthews, who worked at a nearby fast-food restaurant, was reportedly on his break when he approached a woman and asked for a bite of her hot dog.
