In the years following the murder, tensions between Gary Miller and their son, Jonathan, have become public, with Jonathan seeking a restraining order against his father and claiming in court documents that his father believes he was responsible for his mother's death. Both men have denied any involvement in the homicide. In 2011, Jonathan Miller was arrested on an unrelated charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. As of late 2025, the investigation remains open, with law enforcement and Roberta Miller's family still seeking the answers that will bring justice for her death.
