A woman dies as a result of arson On October 11, 1986, a fire broke out at 314 Islington Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, around 3:25 a.m. The blaze claimed the lives of three people: Linda Plummer, age 39, Terry Giles, age 24, and Joseph Poulin, age 29. While Giles and Poulin died shortly after the fire, Plummer survived with severe burns but succumbed to her injuries months later on March 30, 1987, at Massachusetts General Hospital.
