In Bellevue, Nebraska, a quiet apartment complex became the scene of a tragedy on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Larissa R. Zavala, a 30-year-old Caucasian female, was found deceased inside her residence. The discovery was made after a concerned individual requested a welfare check on the male resident of the apartment, who had not been seen or heard from for several days.
Upon their arrival at the apartment in the 11900 block of South 35th Street at approximately 11:46 a.m., Bellevue Police
officers were unable to make contact with anyone inside. After gaining entry to the residence, they discovered the bodies of Larissa Zavala and a 32-year-old male, Luis G. Zavala. Both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds.
Investigators began a thorough examination of the scene to piece together the events that led to the two deaths. While the investigation is ongoing, law enforcement officials have stated that they believe this to be an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing danger to the public. Authorities have not yet released information regarding any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the deaths.
