In the late summer of 2019, the life of Kari Lauren Firlik, a 35-year-old Caucasian woman, came to a tragic end in her home in Bellevue, Nebraska. On the evening of September 28, 2019, law enforcement responded to a call at the Firlik residence, located in the Rising View military housing complex near Offutt Air Force Base. Inside, they made a grim discovery in an upstairs bedroom: the bodies of Kari and her husband, Tech. Sgt. Zachary P. Firlik.
