Death by Force

James Harrell, 44, a Black male from Baton Rouge, was shot and killed on June 2, 2025. Shortly after 5:27 p.m., officers responded to the 10000 block of David Drive, where they found him mortally wounded; he died at the scene. The shooting unfolded after a day of mounting tension that began on city streets and ended at Harrell’s residence.
